Ms. Sekhri eloquently underscored the importance of aligning career choices with one’s unique aptitude, passions, and long-term aspirations while introducing students to a wide spectrum of emerging opportunities in today’s ever-evolving job market. Summer Camp 2026: Fun, Fitness & Creativity – 18.05.2026 to 22.05.2026
The Middle Wing Summer Camp (Classes VI–VIII) at The Banyan Tree School was a vibrant week of learning, creativity, and fun. Students enthusiastically participated in a wide range of activities, including music, dance, art, and sports such as Long Tennis, Basketball, Gymnastics, Taekwondo, and Football. They explored dance forms like Chhau and Bhangra, learned and performed songs, expressed their creativity through art, and developed teamwork, discipline, and confidence through various sports. The camp provided a joyful and enriching environment where students discovered new skills, built friendships, and created lasting memories.
DAASTAN-E-DILLI QUIZ: CELEBRATING DELHI’S HERITAGE – 28.04.2026
Banyan Tree School proudly participated in the Daastan-e-Dilli Quiz held at India International Centre. Focused on Delhi’s rich history, heritage, and culture, the event saw enthusiastic participation from Navya, Ethan, Deshna Puri, and Yazhini, who showcased confidence, teamwork, and knowledge. The experience inspired deeper appreciation for history and culture.
CELEBRATING NATIONAL DNA DAY – 25.04.2026
Banyan Tree School celebrated National DNA Day on April 25 to mark the discovery of the double helix structure of DNA. As part of a STEMVOC Club activity, students from the junior, middle, and senior wings participated in a hands-on experiment to extract DNA from plant material in the Science Composite Lab. Guided by their science teachers, the activity enhanced their understanding of genetics, while senior students also explained the structure and importance of DNA to their junior peers, making it a meaningful and collaborative learning experience.
CREATIVITY SHINES AT WMFI ART CONTEST – 23.04.2026
On 23 April 2026, three students from Classes 6 and 7 of Banyan Tree School, Lodhi Road participated in the WMFI Art Contest at Safdarjung’s Tomb. They showcased their creativity with enthusiasm and received participation certificates. A special mention goes to Kavya of Class 6 for her innovative shading technique, which was highly appreciated by teachers from other schools.
EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS – LEARNING, LEADING, AND LIVING SUSTAINABLY – 22.04.2026
The Earth Day celebrations for Middle School on April 22, 2026, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 150 students of Grades VI–VIII. Students attended a national webinar organized by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Earth Sciences under the theme Our Power, Our Planet, which highlighted pressing global issues such as climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss, while encouraging sustainable practices through the Mission LiFE initiative. The session inspired students to adopt simple eco-friendly habits like reducing plastic use, conserving energy, and participating in green initiatives. This was followed by engaging classroom discussions and a collective commitment towards creating a plastic-free environment. A series of hands-on activities, including growing microgreens and tote or jute bag painting, further reinforced the importance of sustainability and creativity. The celebrations concluded with students taking the Earth Day Pledge, reflecting their dedication to protecting the environment and becoming responsible global citizens.
Career Counselling Session – 18-04-2026

A Career Counselling Session was conducted by Ms. Ekta Sekhri for students of Grades IX and X. The session was informative and engaging. It began with an interactive group activity that promoted teamwork, decision-making, and creative problem-solving, helping students understand the value of collaboration. Ms. Sekhri discussed the importance of choosing careers based on individual interests, skills, and strengths. She also highlighted how career opportunities have expanded greatly in today’s world compared to the past. Students learned about emerging fields such as technology, design, and entrepreneurship. The session encouraged them to stay adaptable, keep learning new skills, and think proactively about their future career paths.

ASCEND – IILM Global Educational Fest, Gurugram – April 10, 2026
Our visit to the ASCEND Global Educational Fest at IILM University, Gurugram, was both enriching and inspiring. The event began with an address by the Director, who spoke about holistic education through the ideas of Knowing, Doing, and Being. We explored the campus, including the law school courtroom and the design lab. We also interacted with representatives from international universities and learned about global programs and opportunities. The trip was informative, enjoyable, and helped broaden our understanding of future academic possibilities.
HONOURING HISTORY, INSPIRING CHANGE – 7.4.2026
Students of Banyan Tree School attended a meaningful commemoration event at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, marking the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. The visit provided valuable insights into the importance of remembering history and promoting peace, unity, and humanity. Through engaging sessions and a powerful student painting exhibition on themes of genocide, hope, and coexistence, students developed a deeper understanding of the impact of discrimination and violence. The experience was enriching and thought-provoking, encouraging students to embrace empathy, respect diversity, and uphold their role as responsible global citizens.
CLASS XI EXCURSION TO SUNDER NURSERY – EXPLORING HERITAGE AND NATURE – 17.03.2026
An educational visit to Sunder Nursery was organized for the students of Class XI to provide them with experiential learning beyond the classroom. The excursion aimed to enhance students’ understanding of heritage conservation, biodiversity, and environmental sustainability. During the visit, the students explored the beautifully restored Mughal-era monuments, landscaped gardens, and diverse plant species present in the nursery. A guided tour was arranged where experts explained the historical significance of the monuments, the importance of ecological restoration, and the variety of native and exotic plants preserved in the park. They also highlighted the role of Sunder Nursery as an important urban biodiversity zone and heritage conservation project in Delhi. They observed different trees, flowering plants, water bodies, and sustainable landscape practices. The visit also encouraged students to appreciate nature, understand the importance of maintaining green spaces in urban areas, and learn about responsible environmental practices. The students thoroughly enjoyed the serene environment, captured memorable moments, and interacted actively during the guided session. The visit proved to be both informative and refreshing, providing students with new knowledge, practical exposure, and a memorable learning experience. Overall, the trip was a great success and left the students inspired to value and protect natural and historical heritage.
EXPLORING HERITAGE AND NATURE: SUNDER NURSERY VISIT – 13.03.2026
An educational excursion to Sunder Nursery, Lodhi Road, was organised on March 13, 2026 for students of Classes VI to VIII. A total of 121 students, accompanied by teachers, parent representatives, and support staff, explored the heritage garden under the guidance of expert tour guides. Students learned about Mughal-era architecture, garden design, and ongoing conservation efforts while experiencing the site’s rich historical and ecological significance. The visit was both enriching and enjoyable, offering meaningful learning beyond the classroom.
HERITAGE COMES ALIVE: CLASS IX EXPLORES SUNDER NURSERY – 12.03.2026
In line with CBSE’s focus on experiential learning, The Banyan School, Lodhi Road, organized an educational visit to Sunder Nursery on March 12, 2026 for Class IX students. Accompanied by teachers, students explored Mughal-era monuments such as Sunderwala Burj and the tomb of Muhammad Quli Khan under the guidance of an expert. Through engaging stories and interactive discussions, students gained insights into history, architecture, and heritage conservation in a vibrant, outdoor setting. The visit successfully brought classroom learning to life, making it both enriching and enjoyable.
ART INTEGRATED LEARNING – RAISING A CIVIC ISSUE USING MCD–311 APPLICATION – December 2025
Students of Class VI participated in a civic awareness and digital literacy activity using the MCD–311 application. They were guided to download the app, create their accounts, and log in successfully. Students identified civic issues in their surroundings such as garbage accumulation, damaged roads, non functional streetlights, or waterlogging, and clicked photographs of the problems. The complaints were uploaded through the application, allowing students to understand the process of reporting public issues to local authorities. After the resolution of the problem, students prepared a brief report highlighting the nature of the issue, the action taken by the concerned department, the number of days required for resolution, and attached before-and-after photographs.
This activity enhanced students’ sense of civic responsibility, digital skills, and awareness of local governance. It encouraged observation, problem-solving, and active participation in community welfare, making learning practical, meaningful, and experiential.
ROTATIONAL SYMMETRY – MATHEMATICS ACTIVITY- 27.12.2025
‘Mathematics becomes meaningful when learned through exploration.’
Students of Grade VI actively participated in an engaging activity on Rotational Symmetry. Using paper cut-outs and real-life objects, they identified angles of rotation and orders of symmetry. The activity enhanced spatial reasoning and helped learners connect mathematical concepts to daily life. Through observation and experimentation, students developed a deeper understanding of geometry while strengthening logical thinking skills. The session reflected our school’s commitment to activity-based and learner-centric education.
ART INTEGRATED LEARNING – WATER CYCLE – 12.12.2025
Grade VI students explored the Water Cycle through an Art Integrated Learning activity that blended science with creativity. Learners illustrated evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection using vibrant visuals and models. This hands-on approach strengthened conceptual clarity while nurturing artistic expression. The activity encouraged observation, imagination, and collaborative learning, making science both enjoyable and memorable. Such interdisciplinary methods promote holistic development and help students retain concepts through experiential learning.
PARTICULATE NATURE OF MATTER – 02.12.2025
Students of Grade VI explored the Particulate Nature of Matter through engaging hands-on activities. Edible colours were added to water to observe diffusion, helping students understand that liquid particles are in constant motion. The movement of smoke between jars further demonstrated the rapid motion of gaseous particles and their weak intermolecular forces. These experiments enabled learners to visualize abstract scientific concepts with ease. The activity fostered curiosity, analytical thinking, and experiential learning, reinforcing our commitment to concept-based education and scientific temper.

ART INTEGRATED LEARNING – CLAY MODELLING : HARAPPAN TREASURES – October 2025
Grade VI students explored the Harappan Civilization through an Art Integrated Learning activity focused on clay modelling. Learners created miniature Harappan artefacts such as seals, pottery, toys, ornaments, and tools using clay, reflecting the craftsmanship of the ancient civilization. This hands-on approach helped students understand the lifestyle, culture, and artistic skills of the Harappan people while strengthening historical concepts. The activity nurtured creativity, fine motor skills, and historical imagination as students carefully shaped and designed their models. Observation, critical thinking, and collaboration were encouraged as learners discussed artefact features and their significance in daily life. By blending history with art, the clay modelling activity made learning engaging, meaningful, and memorable, promoting experiential learning and holistic development among students.
TRANSPORT OF WATER IN PLANTS – 07.05.2025 & 08.05.2025
Students of Grade VII conducted a hands-on science activity to observe the process of water transport in plants. White flowers were placed in jars filled with coloured water, allowing students to visually track the movement of water through the plant’s stem. Over time, the petals changed colour, clearly demonstrating how water travels via xylem tissues from roots to leaves. This experiment helped students understand the role of xylem in transporting water and minerals. The activity sparked curiosity and enhanced conceptual clarity through direct observation, reinforcing theoretical learning with an engaging, real-world demonstration.
