The Senior Wing concluded Academic Session 2025–2026 with a graceful and uplifting Session-End Assembly that celebrated a year of learning, achievements, and togetherness. Patriotic fervor took center stage at Banyan Tree School on January 23, 2026, as students and staff gathered for a spectacular celebration of India’s 77th Republic Day. The event held extraordinary significance this year, marking a profound tribute to the 150th anniversary of the national song, Vande Mataram, through breathtaking dance performances and stirring musical recitals. A powerful sense of reality was brought to the festivities by the presence of Army Jawans, who interacted with the students, while a particularly moving moment saw the CRPF jawans joining the school community in a soulful rendition of the national song. Complementing this, eloquent student speakers shared reflections on the Constitution as the guardian of our democracy. In her address, Principal ma’am emphasized the importance of carrying these values beyond the classroom, urging students to be responsible citizens who lead with integrity. A PROUD MOMENT WITH FIFA’S ULTIMATE PRIZE – 11.01.2025
Students of Banyan Tree School, Ashish Prakash Pathak and Deepak Ramola, attended the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola on 11 January 2026 at the NSIC Exhibition Ground, New Delhi. The visit offered an enriching insight into the world of professional football. A standout moment was witnessing the original FIFA World Cup Trophy up close, an experience that powerfully embodied the heritage and grandeur of the sport. The visit was further elevated by an interaction with renowned Indian goalkeeper Mr Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, whose presence proved deeply motivating. Engaging football-themed games and skill-based activities added to the experience, fostering active participation and reinforcing the students’ appreciation for sportsmanship and global football culture.

Banyan Tree School’s Alumni Meet – Reverberate 3.0, held on 13th December 2025, gathered former students for an afternoon of nostalgia and camaraderie. After informal greetings and a pin‑messages activity, the programme opened with a welcome, invocation and lamp lighting. Inauguration of Padel Court – 10.11.25
At Banyan Tree School, learning extends beyond the boundaries of the classroom, encompassing the holistic development of every child. In keeping with the philosophy of nurturing intellectual, emotional, and physical growth, the school proudly inaugurated its state-of-the-art Padel Court—a first-of-its-kind facility among schools in the region.
The Padel Court was inaugurated by the Principal, Ms. Parul Sahai on 10th November 2025. In her address, she emphasized the importance of sports in fostering discipline, strategic thinking, social interaction, teamwork, and resilience among the students. She shared that the inclusion of this modern facility aligns with the school’s mission of promoting a balanced lifestyle and encouraging students to pursue excellence both in academics and co-curricular pursuits.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the students were invited to try their hands at the sport after the inauguration. Under the guidance of the Sports Department, the students enthusiastically participated grasping the basics of this engaging and energetic game.

The School celebrated its Founder’s Day with immense pride and reverence on November 4, 2025 (Tuesday), marking the 101st Birth Anniversary of its visionary Founder, Dr. Kulwant Rai — the guiding light behind the Banyan Tree Schools and IILM Institutions. The event was graced by Hon’ble Ms. Malvika Rai as the Guest of Honour, Principal Ms. Parul Sahai, Lt. Col. Reagan Sinru, and the entire Banyan Tree fraternity.

The Special Assembly began with the chanting of the Sai Mantra, followed by the Lighting of the Lamp and Floral Tributes. The Head Girl and Head Boy shared glimpses of Dr. Rai’s inspiring life and ideals, while students from Classes V to XII presented soulful musical and dance performances reflecting the Founder’s spirit of learning and joy.

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Malvika Rai highlighted the significance of Founder’s Day as a moment to reaffirm the school’s commitment to Dr. Rai’s timeless vision. Radiating festive brilliance from Nursery to Class XII, Banyan Tree School celebrated Diwali with a grand assembly on 17th October. The program commenced with a soulful prayer to Lord Rama, followed by a captivating Ram Gatha and vibrant dance and music performances. Principal Ms Parul Sahai and the Headmistress praised the participants’ efforts and encouraged the community to celebrate a joyful, eco-friendly Green Diwali. The celebration beautifully reflected the spirit of unity and cultural heritage, successfully blending festive joy with a meaningful message of environmental consciousness.
FAMILIES EXPLORE INNOVATION AT OUR HYDROPONIC UNIT – 11.10.2025
During the recent Parent-Teacher Meeting, around 30 families had the opportunity to visit our Hydroponic Unit and learn about soil-free farming powered by nutrient-rich water. Parents appreciated the school’s forward-thinking approach in promoting sustainability and offering students hands-on experience with modern agricultural methods. The visit highlighted our commitment to nurturing environmental awareness and equipping learners with the skills needed for a future shaped by innovation and responsibility. This meaningful interaction not only showcased the potential of sustainable farming but also reinforced the value of experiential learning in shaping well-informed, eco-conscious individuals.

The Teachers’ Day Assembly at Banyan Tree School was a heartfelt tribute to the guiding lights of our lives—our teachers. The celebration began on a serene and spiritual note with a prayer, setting the tone for a morning filled with appreciation and joy. The energy quickly lifted with vibrant dance performances and melodious choir renditions by our talented students, each act expressing gratitude in its own unique way.

Our respected Principal then addressed the gathering, highlighting the immense dedication and impact of educators in shaping young minds. Her words served as a reminder of the values, compassion, and commitment that teachers bring into the classroom every day.

One of the most memorable moments of the assembly was a creative skit in which students took on the roles of their teachers. With humor, affection, and deep respect, the performance beautifully captured everyday classroom moments, ending with a touching message that resonated with everyone present.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION – 2025
“Freedom is not a gift, but the result of endless struggle and sacrifice.” With this spirit, Banyan Tree School, Lodhi Road, proudly celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The festivities were held over two days — the Junior Wing celebration on 13th August 2025 and the Middle & Senior School programme on 14th August 2025 — each paying heartfelt tribute to the valor, sacrifices, and unwavering spirit of India’s freedom fighters.

Junior Wing Celebration – 13th August 2025
The Junior Wing hosted a vibrant assembly titled Glimpses of Independence Day, bringing alive defining moments from the country’s struggle for freedom. Through graceful dances, stirring poems, and dramatic reenactments, students portrayed the bravery of Rani Laxmi Bai, the sacrifices of the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh, Mahatma Gandhi’s resolve during the Dandi March, and the courage of Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, and other luminaries who shaped India’s history.A major highlight was the Freedom Fighters’ Parade, where the youngest students marched proudly, dressed as iconic figures from the independence movement. The programme also featured a mesmerizing dance inspired by Lord Shiva’s Tandava, symbolising the eternal cycle of creation, preservation, and destruction. The grand finale combined disciplined yoga sequences, dynamic taekwondo demonstrations, and an energetic dance mashup. In her address, the Principal encouraged students to strive for excellence, uphold values of integrity, and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress. The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving the audience filled with pride.

Middle & Senior School Celebration – 14th August 2025
The celebrations continued the next day in the school auditorium, adorned with tricolour decorations and symbols of India’s freedom struggle. The programme began with a graceful Ganesh Vandana dance, followed by a melodious performance by the school choir, whose patriotic songs stirred deep emotions.A powerful skit depicted pivotal moments from the freedom struggle, honouring the courage and sacrifices of great leaders and revolutionaries. Energetic and expressive dance performances captured scenes from India’s historical journey to independence, while impactful speeches and inspiring quotes reflected students’ love for their motherland.The celebration concluded with the collective singing of the National Anthem, uniting the entire school community in pride and respect for the nation. Across both days, the efforts of the teachers, dedication of the students, and support of the parents made the programmes a resounding success — reminding everyone of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and inspiring all to work towards a stronger and better India.

Investiture Ceremony 2025-26
The Investiture Ceremony of Banyan Tree School, Lodhi Road, was held on 19th July 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with great enthusiasm and pride. A much-awaited event in the school calendar, it marked the formal appointment of the Student Council for the academic session 2025–26 and served as a platform to celebrate leadership, commitment, and service. The ceremony commenced with a warm Welcome Address by a faculty member, who greeted the dignitaries, Principal Ms. Shibani Ghosh, staff, and students, while underlining the value of responsible leadership.

This was followed by the Lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp by the Chief Guests—Mr. Lakshay Pandey, Deputy Superintendent of Police and an alumnus of the school, and Mr. Bhumitra Sharma, an accomplished software developer and debater. The school choir performed a soulful Saraswati Vandana, adding a spiritual touch to the occasion. Mr. Lakshay Pandey, from the Class of 2011, is a Civil Services qualifier who has served in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and currently serves in Chandigarh. Mr. Bhumitra Sharma, with his dual expertise in technology and public speaking, has inspired many as an adjudicator and mentor.

The core event began with the confident march of the Head Girl Ananya and Head Boy Aditya Kumar, followed by council members marching house-wise to the beats of the school band. The newly elected leaders were formally invested with badges, sashes, and flags by the Principal and Chief Guests. Principal Ms. Ghosh then administered the solemn oath, where the council members pledged to uphold the values of the institution and fulfill their roles with integrity. The Head Girl and Head Boy addressed the gathering with eloquence and gratitude, promising collaborative leadership and a positive school environment. A vibrant cultural dance performance added color and energy to the event, celebrating India’s rich traditions. Mr. Sharma then delivered a motivating speech highlighting the importance of creativity, critical thinking, and communication. Mr. Pandey followed with a heartfelt address, urging students to enjoy their school years while staying focused and disciplined. The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks, the School Song, and the National Anthem. Earth Day Activity
As a heartfelt tribute to nature and love, Banyan Tree School organised a vibrant celebration filled with creativity and care. Students participated in a variety of eco-friendly activities such as poster making, best-out-of-waste bird feeders and pencil holders, up cycling pencil shavings into art, and joyful finger painting. Every activity was a step toward expressing love and gratitude for our environment.
Red Day Celebration
Our Red Day celebration was a huge success! The classroom was transformed with vibrant red balloons and decorations. Students enjoyed the “Rip & Stick Red Fun” activity, creating red-themed artwork, and participated in the “Red Ball Rally,” enhancing their color recognition and sorting skills. They also made apple crafts using paper crumbling and took home strawberry paper cutouts. A fun-filled learning experience!
Orientation Programme (IX) 2025-26
The Grade IX Orientation Programme at Banyan Tree School was held successfully, marking the beginning of a significant academic phase for students. The event was attended by Principal Ms. Rina Bana, faculty members, parents, and students. The session commenced with a warm welcome and a note of gratitude to parents for their continued support, the dedicated teaching staff, and the strong leadership guiding the institution. The importance of Class IX as a foundational year for senior secondary education was highlighted throughout the session.

The school’s vision—to provide a safe, inclusive, and dynamic learning environment—was shared, along with a reaffirmation of its core values: Respect, Responsibility, and Safety. The orientation aimed to inspire students, clarify academic and assessment structures, explain discipline norms, and strengthen parent-school collaboration.

Important information regarding school hours (8:00 AM to 2:00 PM), attendance requirements (minimum 75% as per CBSE), and the ERP portal for leave applications was shared. Students were reminded of the school’s strict code of conduct, especially regarding the use of mobile devices. The academic framework, including subjects offered and assessment criteria (80 marks theory and 20 marks internal assessment), was explained, with a focus on timely submissions and promotion rules.

To promote holistic development, two CBSE skill subjects—Artificial Intelligence and Physical Activity Trainer—were introduced. Students were also encouraged to actively participate in clubs and co-curricular activities scheduled for Saturdays.

Parents were urged to monitor academic progress, ensure regular attendance, reinforce school discipline, and stay updated via the ERP portal. Fee payment guidelines, including online payment and deadlines, were also discussed. The event concluded with the introduction of Class IX class teachers—Dr. Kaukab Razi and Ms. Shweta Kumar—and an interactive Q&A session that addressed parent concerns, reinforcing the school’s commitment to transparent communication and student success.

Orientation , Middle School (VI-VIII) 2025-26
An orientation program for students of Grades 6, 7, and 8, along with their parents, was conducted to familiarize them with the academic structure and policies for the upcoming session 2025-26. The session aimed to ensure a smooth transition into the new academic year by outlining key aspects such as subjects, school policies, and disciplinary measures.

The program began with a warm welcome by the Middle School Headmistress, Ms. Sharmila Bhalla, who emphasized the importance of discipline, dedication, and active participation in school activities. Subject coordinators introduced the curriculum, highlighting core subjects and elective options available to students. The significance of co-curricular activities, sports, and skill-based learning was also discussed.

A dedicated session on school policies covered attendance requirements, code of conduct, and examination guidelines. Teachers also addressed disciplinary measures, stressing the importance of respect, punctuality, and adherence to school rules. Parents were encouraged to actively support their children’s academic journey and maintain regular communication with teachers.

Additionally, the newly appointed class teachers and subject teachers were introduced, helping students and parents establish a connection with their mentors for the year ahead. The event successfully provided valuable insights and set a positive tone for the new academic session.

Banyan Tree School hosted an Orientation Programme for classes X and XII students and parents at the school auditorium on 11th of March, 2025. The programme aimed to familiarize students and parents with the school’s curriculum, attendance policies, discipline expectations and many more objectives. A comprehensive presentation addressed queries and concerns from parents and students, providing clarity on the school’s policies and expectations.

Intra BTSMUN 2025 – 25.07.2025

On July 25, 2025, the Banyan Tree School library was charged with energy as students participated in the Intra BTSMUN All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM). Tasked with debating the Uniform Civil Code, delegates stepped into the roles of political leaders to navigate the complexities of India’s diversity and national integration. The event was graced by alumna and guest speaker Ms. Ishita Sharma, who inspired the participants to lead with courage and listen with an open mind.
The session was a masterclass in democracy, featuring passionate arguments that balanced legislative goals with cultural sensitivity. After a day of rigorous deliberation, Ashutosh Bisht (XI Commerce) secured the First position, followed by Medhansh Gupta (X B) in Second, and Insha Irshad (XI Humanities) in Third. Shraddha Chakraborty (XI Science) earned a Commendation for her exceptional performance in the International Press. This successful conference highlighted the power of informed dialogue, proving that the future of the nation is in capable hands.

Spectrum 2.0, 15.5.25

Banyan Tree School, New Delhi, hosted a thought-provoking Inter-School English Debate as part of its annual event, Spectrum 2025. The debate revolved around the theme “Youth and the World Ahead”, encouraging students to engage with ideas shaping a future driven by inclusivity, innovation, and sustainability.

The event began with a warm welcome from the student comperes, followed by a ceremonial lamp lighting by the Principal, Ms. Rina Bana, and esteemed guests. In her address, Ms. Bana underscored the significance of informed dialogue, empathy, and open-mindedness in nurturing future leaders.

The day’s discourse opened with a Hindi debate on “Social Media kishoro mein chinta aur maansik avsaad ko badhaata hai,” where students presented compelling arguments on social media’s psychological impact. This was followed by the English debate on
Intergenerational Voice-outs: The Involvement of Older Generations is Insignificant for the Future Generations.” Participants argued both for and against the motion with clarity, conviction, and mutual respect, showcasing their oratory skills and quick thinking during interjections.

Judges Ms. Sangeeta Guha and Mr. Bhumitra Sharma praised the participants for their insight, articulation, and critical reasoning. Schools like Springdales, The Mother’s International, Tagore International, G.D. Goenka, Platinum Valley International, and Summer Fields took part, while Banyan Tree participated without contesting for awards.

Winners included Ishanvi (Tagore International) and Meher Aggarwal (The Mother’s International) in their respective categories. The Best Interjector award went to Vivaan Sethi (G.D. Goenka). The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, celebrating spirited discourse and youth empowerment.
