Diwali Assembly , 28.10.24
On October 28th, our school auditorium was alive with the vibrant celebration of Diwali, the festival of lights. The assembly brought together students and teachers eager to participate in the festivities, emphasizing the significance of this important occasion. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of lamps, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness. As the flames flickered, a sense of reverence filled the air, reminding everyone of the hope and renewal that Diwali represents. Following this, students recited a heartfelt poem that beautifully captured the essence of the festival, touching on themes of joy, family unity, and overcoming negativity. The audience was captivated, experiencing a spirit of celebration and reflection. A lively nukkad natak, or street play, showcased the significance of Diwali through humor and drama, reinforcing the message of good triumphing over evil. The assembly’s highlight was a dance performance, where students displayed vibrant choreography to popular Diwali songs, radiating enthusiasm in colorful traditional attire. The event concluded with the national anthem, fostering a sense of unity. Overall, the Diwali assembly was a success, celebrating our rich cultural heritage and inspiring everyone to embrace kindness, unity, and hope in daily life.
Blue Fiesta-Blue Day Celebration
The colour blue symbolizes loyalty, wisdom, and strength, evoking the serenity of the sky and the tranquillity of water. To introduce our young learners to the significance of blue, Banyan Tree School organized Blue Day for Nursery and KG students. Dressed in various shades of blue, our little ones radiated calmness and coolness.
Through engaging activities like sorting blue shapes, building blue castles and mixing shades of blue students developed a deeper understanding of the colour blue.
Children participated with immense excitement and zeal, embracing the hands-on experiences.
Hindi Diwas Special Assembly
12 सितंबर को हिंदी दिवस के अवसर पर बैनियन ट्री विद्यालय में समारोह का आयोजन विशेष रूप से हिंदी भाषा और साहित्य के प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ाने के उद्देश्य से किया गया। इस समारोह में विद्यार्थियों और शिक्षकों ने मिलकर हिंदी भाषा की समृद्धि और महत्व को उजागर करने के लिए कई गतिविधियाँ कीं।

इस वर्ष की हिंदी दिवस असेंबली का आयोजन सुबह 8 बजे विद्यालय के मुख्य सभागार स्थल पर किया गया। समारोह की शुरुआत प्रधानाचार्या जी द्वारा दीप प्रज्ज्वलित कर तथा सरस्वती वंदना से की गयी।

समारोह में हिन्दी की अनेक विधाओं को प्रदर्शित किया गया।

छात्रों ने भाषा की महत्ता समझायी।

छात्रों ने प्रसिद्ध हिंदी कवियों की कविताओं का सुंदर पाठ किया। कविता पाठ के माध्यम से हिंदी साहित्य की विविधता और गहराई को प्रदर्शित किया गया।

नुक्कड़ नाटक ने समारोह के माहौल को जीवंत कर दिया।

नृत्य प्रस्तुतियों द्वारा देश की सांस्कृतिक झलक का आयोजन किया गया। इन प्रस्तुतियों ने हिंदी भाषा की सांस्कृतिक धरोहर को जीवंत किया और दर्शकों का मन मोह लिया।

हिंदी दिवस की असेंबली ने हमें हमारी मातृभाषा के प्रति गर्व और सम्मान की भावना को पुनर्जीवित किया। इस अवसर पर आयोजित गतिविधियों ने हिंदी भाषा की सुंदरता और महत्व को उजागर किया और विद्यार्थियों को अपनी भाषा और संस्कृति की समृद्धि को समझने का एक अनूठा अवसर प्रदान किया।

हिंदी दिवस पर इस प्रकार के समारोह का आयोजन हमें हमारी सांस्कृतिक जड़ों से जुड़ने और मातृभाषा के प्रति हमारी जिम्मेदारियों को समझने का अवसर प्रदान करता है। हमें चाहिए कि हम इस भाषा को संजोएं और इसके संरक्षण के लिए निरंतर प्रयासरत रहें।

🎶What a vibrant and inspiring start to the day! Our Grade 7 assembly was a beautiful🦚 presentation of the Janmashtami, capturing the essence of this joyous festival with energy and creativity. From captivating performances to thoughtful speeches, every moment was filled with devotion and enthusiasm. The students brought traditional dances and insightful presentations, reflecting the spirit of unity and learning. A huge thank you to everyone involved for their hard work and dedication in making this event memorable🌼. It’s wonderful to see our school community come together to honor and celebrate such a significant cultural occasion. May the teachings of Krishna inspire us all to embrace wisdom, compassion, and joy in our daily lives!
HERITAGE WALK TO HUMAYUN’S TOMB
The heritage walk to Humayun’s Tomb was an enriching experience for the Humanities students of Class XII. As the students entered the complex, they were struck by the majestic beauty and historical significance of the structures within, which featured architectural styles blending Indian, Persian, and Central Asian influences.

The students began by exploring Isa Khan’s Tomb and Mosque, a pre-Mughal era structure built in 1547, and noted its unique combination of Lodhi and early Mughal architectural styles.

Next, they visited Bu Halima’s grave and garden, a tranquil oasis within the complex. They learned about the significance of the garden’s design, inspired by the charbagh concept.

The students then proceeded to the Arab Sarai, a historic inn for travelers and artisans, and discovered its importance in the construction of Humayun’s Tomb.

The group continued to the Afsarwala Tomb and Mosque, a 16th-century structure built for a nobleman. They observed its intricate stone carvings and ornate decorations.

The students explored the Baoli, a stepwell that served as a water source for the complex, and the ruins of shops adjacent to it.

The walk culminated at Humayun’s Tomb, where they learned about the life of Humayun, the second Mughal emperor, and his wife Haji Begum, who commissioned the tomb’s construction. The complex also houses the graves of other Mughal rulers and nobles.

This heritage walk deepened students’ understanding of India’s rich history, cultural diversity, and architectural heritage. It inspired them to appreciate and preserve their cultural treasures for future generations.

Janmashtami Celebration
With the inspiring thought that divine power always triumphs over evil, the young children of Banyan Tree School celebrated Shri Krishna Janmashtami with immense
enthusiasm. Adorned as Krishna, Radha, and the gopis, the little ones danced to melodious songs and beautifully enacted the scene of Krishna’s birth. They also sang soulful Krishna bhajans, bringing the spirit of Janmashtami to life with theirvibrant energy.
Red Day Hurray
The color red symbolizes love, courage, passion, vitality, and happiness. To honor these powerful human emotions, our preschoolers donned their stunning red outfits and enthusiastically celebrated a spectacular Red Day! The tiny tots engaged in fun- filled activities like painting, coloring, and singing red-themed songs. They learned
about the significance of the color red in our lives and practiced sorting and classifying objects by color, thereby strengthening their cognitive skills. The celebration was not just fun but also a wonderful learning experience.
Independence Day Special Assembly
On August 14, 2024, our Independence Day Celebration began with a warm welcome and a reflection on the day’s significance, emphasizing freedom and patriotism.

The event opened with a classical music performance, creating a reflective atmosphere. This was followed by a morning prayer, invoking blessings for the nation and its people, and setting a hopeful tone for the day.

A poignant “Thought of the Day,” featuring a quote from John F. Kennedy—“Ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country”—reminded everyone of the values of service and responsibility. Attendees were then updated with national news, sports highlights, and the weather forecast.

The program continued with a lively western musical performance that delighted the audience. This was followed by a skit that captured the essence of Independence Day, highlighting its historical and emotional significance. The festivities were further enhanced by a dynamic dance performance, adding vibrancy and energy to the event.

The celebration concluded with an inspiring address from the Principal, who spoke about the importance of freedom and unity. The national anthem reinforced a shared sense of patriotism and pride. The event ended with a motivational call to uphold the spirit of Independence Day throughout the year and heartfelt wishes for a Happy Independence Day.

PLANTATION DRIVE
At Banyan Tree School, students recently embarked on an inspiring plantation drive, actively contributing to environmental sustainability. Guided by their teachers, children enthusiastically planted a variety of saplings around the school grounds, transforming the area into a greener, more vibrant space. The drive aimed to instill a sense of responsibility and love for nature in the students, emphasizing the importance of trees in combating climate change. Each child took pride in their contribution, learning about different plant species and their ecological benefits. This initiative not only beautified the school but also empowered students to become proactive environmental stewards.
INTER HOUSE SOLO DANCE COMPETITION
An Inter-House solo dance competition for grades Nursery to Five showcased vibrant performances. The young dancers impressed the audience and judges with their creativity and skill, fostering a spirit of competition and camaraderie. All the participants were celebrated with enthusiastic applause.
Celebrating International Tiger’s Day
On July 29, 2024, students at Banyan Tree School celebrated International Tiger Day to highlight the importance of tiger conservation. The event aimed to boost awareness about protecting these majestic animals, emphasizing their crucial role in ecosystems and encouraging collaborative efforts to ensure their survival. Throughout the day, students engaged in a variety of activities, including crafting tiger headbands and masks, researching tiger facts, and creating collages. These activities were designed to educate and inspire students about the significance of preserving tiger populations and their habitats.
Pink Day Celebration
Pretty Pink-The power of Colour Pink
The colour Pink represents friendship, harmony, inner peace and stability. Pink is also often associated with innocence of childhood. In order to acquaint the little ones with the concept of the colour pink, Pink Day was organized for the students of Nursery and KG. Dressed in different shades of pink, the young ones looked charismatic radiating love, beauty and kindness.

As a part of the campaign for Swachh Bharat-Swachhta Pakhwada (CBSE), various activities were conducted in our school, to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and self hygiene .

From 01/09/23 to 15/09/23 September Swachhata Pakhwada was organised , Swachhta Shapath was taken on the very first day of the Pakhwada, where all the students , the Principal, Vice Princpal and the staff of the school participated. Out of various activities slogan writing on ‘Swachh Bharat’ were conducted for classes VI to X, where the students realized the importance of cleanliness and sanitation, as the role of schools has been Instrumental in realizing the mission of Swachh Bharat.

House Pledge Writing Activity

The theme of the activity was : Young Nation – 75 years of independence.
Their pledge included their vision for the country and their role in it.
They notably pledged to be creative and innovative citizens for the country. They pledged to maintain peace and harmony as the young citizens of the country; and to protect the rich heritage of our country.

Write like Mesopotamians

Class XI Humanities students did a practical activity in History to learn how the Mesopotamians wrote! Instead of Clay, they used Modelling Clay, instead of a reed pen they used a straw… and they WROTE LIKE THE MESOPOTAMIANS!!!
What a wonderful learning experience!

Story Telling Competition

Grade 3 & 4 students shine in an inter-class story-telling competition! 🌟 With great enthusiasm, young storytellers captivated the audience with imaginative tales and valuable life lessons. From bravery to kindness, each story showcased the importance of moral values in a world that needs them the most. The event left everyone inspired.

Karate Classes

“Children are not only learning karate in their hands but in their mind and heart also”.
This implies that the students are not only physically learning the techniques of karate but are also learning the mental and emotional aspects of the martial art. This could refer to the discipline, focus, and values that karate teaches, in addition to the physical skills.

Silhouette Autobiography

On 15th April, 2023 BTS Lodhi Road conducted ‘Silhouette Autobiography’ for grades IX to XII. Students were asked to bring cut-outs of girl/boy on coloured sheets. They were asked to write about themselves in the cut-out.The students included various things like about their dreams, challenges they have had to overcome, their favourite memory and many others.Through this activity, students used their creative skills and wrote their minds.

Food Is The String That Binds Us Together

The term ‘Indian Cuisine’ denotes a melange of flavours from different parts of the country and the same was showcased by the students of grade VI-VIII.
Students brought a variety of local cuisine/dishes of various Indian regions- Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Assam etc.
The students enthusiastically showcased their dish by sharing its name (in local language), the process involved in its making, the ingredients used and also shared the importance of the dish in the culture.
The theme of the activity was to make students aware about traditional local cuisines and the use of local language involved in the process.The incredible culinary diversity of India was depicted through this activity.

CBSE Literature Week – Celebration of Regional Women Writers

Banyan Tree School, Lodhi Road celebrated Literature Week wherein they created collages and posters on Regional Women Writers. Classes from IX-XII participated with great zeal and enthusiasm; and understood the value and contribution of women writers in literature.
