\nThe Junior Wing hosted a vibrant assembly titled Glimpses of Independence Day, bringing alive defining moments from the country\u2019s struggle for freedom. Through graceful dances, stirring poems, and dramatic reenactments, students portrayed the bravery of Rani Laxmi Bai, the sacrifices of the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh, Mahatma Gandhi\u2019s resolve during the Dandi March, and the courage of Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, and other luminaries who shaped India\u2019s history.A major highlight was the Freedom Fighters\u2019 Parade, where the youngest students marched proudly, dressed as iconic figures from the independence movement. The programme also featured a mesmerizing dance inspired by Lord Shiva\u2019s Tandava, symbolising the eternal cycle of creation, preservation, and destruction. The grand finale combined disciplined yoga sequences, dynamic taekwondo demonstrations, and an energetic dance mashup. In her address, the Principal encouraged students to strive for excellence, uphold values of integrity, and contribute meaningfully to the nation\u2019s progress. Middle & Senior School Celebration \u2013 14th August 2025
\nThe celebrations continued the next day in the school auditorium, adorned with tricolour decorations and symbols of India\u2019s freedom struggle. The programme began with a graceful Ganesh Vandana dance, followed by a melodious performance by the school choir, whose patriotic songs stirred deep emotions.A powerful skit depicted pivotal moments from the freedom struggle, honouring the courage and sacrifices of great leaders and revolutionaries. A much-awaited event in the school calendar, it marked the formal appointment of the Student Council for the academic session 2025\u201326 and served as a platform to celebrate leadership, commitment, and service. The ceremony commenced with a warm Welcome Address by a faculty member, who greeted the dignitaries, Principal Ms. Shibani Ghosh, staff, and students, while underlining the value of responsible leadership. <\/p>\n
This was followed by the Lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp by the Chief Guests\u2014Mr. Lakshay Pandey, Deputy Superintendent of Police and an alumnus of the school, and Mr. Bhumitra Sharma, an accomplished software developer and debater. The school choir performed a soulful Saraswati Vandana, adding a spiritual touch to the occasion. Mr. Lakshay Pandey, from the Class of 2011, is a Civil Services qualifier who has served in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and currently serves in Chandigarh. Mr. Bhumitra Sharma, with his dual expertise in technology and public speaking, has inspired many as an adjudicator and mentor.<\/p>\n
The core event began with the confident march of the Head Girl Ananya and Head Boy Aditya Kumar, followed by council members marching house-wise to the beats of the school band. The newly elected leaders were formally invested with badges, sashes, and flags by the Principal and Chief Guests. Principal Ms. Ghosh then administered the solemn oath, where the council members pledged to uphold the values of the institution and fulfill their roles with integrity. The Head Girl and Head Boy addressed the gathering with eloquence and gratitude, promising collaborative leadership and a positive school environment. The program began with a warm welcome by the Middle School Headmistress, Ms. Sharmila Bhalla, who emphasized the importance of discipline, dedication, and active participation in school activities. Subject coordinators introduced the curriculum, highlighting core subjects and elective options available to students. The significance of co-curricular activities, sports, and skill-based learning was also discussed.<\/p>\n
A dedicated session on school policies covered attendance requirements, code of conduct, and examination guidelines. Teachers also addressed disciplinary measures, stressing the importance of respect, punctuality, and adherence to school rules. On July 25, 2025, the Banyan Tree School library was charged with energy as students participated in the Intra BTSMUN All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM). Banyan Tree School, New Delhi, hosted a thought-provoking Inter-School English Debate as part of its annual event, Spectrum 2025. The debate revolved around the theme \u201cYouth and the World Ahead\u201d, encouraging students to engage with ideas shaping a future driven by inclusivity, innovation, and sustainability.<\/p>\n
The event began with a warm welcome from the student comperes, followed by a ceremonial lamp lighting by the Principal, Ms. Rina Bana, and esteemed guests. In her address, Ms. Bana underscored the significance of informed dialogue, empathy, and open-mindedness in nurturing future leaders.<\/p>\n
The day\u2019s discourse opened with a Hindi debate on \u201cSocial Media kishoro mein chinta aur maansik avsaad ko badhaata hai,\u201d where students presented compelling arguments on social media\u2019s psychological impact. This was followed by the English debate on
\nIntergenerational Voice-outs: The Involvement of Older Generations is Insignificant for the Future Generations.\u201d Participants argued both for and against the motion with clarity, conviction, and mutual respect, showcasing their oratory skills and quick thinking during interjections.<\/p>\n
Judges Ms. Sangeeta Guha and Mr. Bhumitra Sharma praised the participants for their insight, articulation, and critical reasoning. Schools like Springdales, The Mother\u2019s International, Tagore International, G.D. Goenka, Platinum Valley International, and Summer Fields took part, while Banyan Tree participated without contesting for awards.<\/p>\n
Winners included Ishanvi (Tagore International) and Meher Aggarwal (The Mother\u2019s International) in their respective categories. The Best Interjector award went to Vivaan Sethi (G.D. Goenka).
