United Nations Development Programme

The United Nations Development Programme, the third-highest office of the United Nations’ was inaugurated on November 22, 1965 with the vision of assisting economic and political development in underdeveloped countries. The UN identifies 51 countries as developed, which leaves 145 developing and underdeveloped nations.
In the 21st Century, due to climate change, poverty, inequality and the tremendously decreasing amount of resources sustainable development is intrinsic to the survival of humankind. The United Nations 2030 agenda for Sustainable development was adopted on 25 September, 2015 by world leaders to act against these issues.
